KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate new product development and redesigning to boost market share and drive business growth and profitability.
- Develop a comprehensive marketing plan to drive the bank’s products and services.
- Oversee Agency Network, Marketing and Product Profitability.
- Develop and enhance the Agency business by implementing effective business strategies and promoting the bank’s products and services in line with overall corporate strategy in order to attract targeted customers.
- Lead the team in marketing the bank’s brand and improving its local competitiveness.
- Create and execute a Relationship Banking plan to expand the bank's portfolio through market segmentation.
- Grow the team’s portfolio profitability by identifying new customers, sales opportunities, product marketing campaigns and new product promotion initiatives.
- Develop and communicate business plans and its progress through regular meetings with the business team to create ownership and performance awareness.
- Manage performance of the team against key financial, sales, service and operational targets and submit monthly business reports to Management.
- Conduct reviews of bank products and services to assess patronage and profitability, and advise management accordingly.
- Prepare call reports on key relationships for dissemination.
- Manage employee performance through teamwork, training, and career development, appraisals and disciplinary actions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
- First degree in Business Administration (with bias in Marketing) or related field.
- Professional qualification in Marketing, or its equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
- A minimum of five (5) years working experience, of which at least three (3) years are in a Relationship Management role in the financial services sector.
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
- Working knowledge of banking operations and credit transactions are essential.
- Thorough knowledge of banking products, practices, product economics and pricing and regulations.
- Must possess demonstrable knowledge of Agency Management, Agency accounting and transactional procedures, systems and processes and Customer Service
- Possess financial analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with decision making ability.
- Strategic thinker with an ability to identify opportunities in a fast/dynamic competitive market.
- Excellent knowledge and appreciation of market issues both nationally and globally as well as their impact on the economy and the bank’s operations.
- Excellent people management skills, including team building, motivation, performance management and the ability to explore team expertise to full business potential
- Excellent communication (written, verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills are critical to the role.
- Proficient user of MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint, etc.
