Anlo Rural Bank PLC is seeking a skilled Credit Officer to join our team to assist in the designing and executing of credit risk assessment framework for credit risk mitigation. The successful candidate will also support the effective implementation of procedures, rules, regulations and guidelines in the delivery, monitoring and recovery of all loans and advances and minimizing the effect of credit risk on the bank’s credit portfolio.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support to provide and implement effective credit risk assessment to mitigate credit risk to improve loan quality.
- Provide technical and competent advice on credit issues to the manager.
- Assist review credit/loan policy to address the varied needs of clients while meeting all regulatory requirements.
- Undertake loan appraisal and reviews (Salary, Pension Susu, Commercial, Agric, Group etc).
- Assess clients’ financial status and evaluate creditworthiness and risks.
- Calculate financial ratios (e.g. credit scores and interest rates.
- Analyze risks and recommend approval or rejection of loan requests.
- Ensure loan recovery and monitoring.
- Maintain updated records of loan applications.
- Report preparation (Monthly Susu report, BOG collateral report, Quarterly classification etc).
- Call report.
- Any other duties assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Education: A minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, or related field, (required)
- Collaboration: Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills for reporting Credit issues and solutions to management.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and adept at handling multiple priorities. Able to stay calm and effective under pressure.
- Analytical Thinking: Understanding of data analytics tools and techniques to enhance credit decision-making.
EXPERIENCE
- Approximately 2+ years of relevant Credit experience, including at least 1 years in a similar role (e.g., Credit Officer). Experience in the banking or financial services sector is an advantage.
- Must be computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft office.
- Experience with core banking software (especially Temenos T24) is a strong plus.
